Read and manage notifications
Filter notifications, review their context, follow the recommended action, and clear items you no longer need.
Available from the dashboard utility bar; notification content depends on your access and school activity.
Use Notifications to review important changes and move from an alert to the workspace where it can be handled.
Available to
Dashboard users can see notifications for work they are allowed to access. The list can include Assistant requests, replies, admissions, scheduling, billing, learning, files, imports, access changes, and system alerts.
Before you start
- A notification is a pointer to work, not always proof that the underlying issue is still active.
- Open the linked record and verify its current state before taking a consequential action.
- Dismissing a notification clears the alert; it does not undo the underlying event.
Steps
- Select Notifications on the right side of the dashboard. The badge shows the unread count.
- Use All, Unread, or Resolved to choose a notification state.
- Use All, Inbox, Operations, or Admin to narrow the type of work. Inbox covers replies, mentions, leads, and trials; Operations covers lessons, attendance, billing, and assignments; Admin covers imports, access, facilities, and system alerts.
- Enter words in Search notifications to find a person, source, or summary.
- Select a notification to read its full message, source, type, state, and update time. Opening an unread item marks it as read.
- Select the primary button, when present, to open the relevant client, lesson, invoice, message, import, or other workspace.
- Select Mark notification as read for one unread item, or Mark all read to clear the unread state for the current list.
- Select Dismiss when the alert no longer needs to remain active. Use Resolved later if you need to find dismissed or resolved items.
What happens next
The unread badge updates as items are read. Following a notification opens the matching dashboard context, and dismissed items remain available under Resolved for reference.
If you do not see this option
- There may be no notifications for your role or school yet.
- The selected state, category, or search can hide an item; return each filter to All and clear the search.
- You may no longer have access to the linked workspace.
- A notification may already be dismissed or resolved.
- If a linked record no longer exists, use the notification details as context and ask an owner or admin for help.
