Review preview versions and retry checks

Use Versions to compare generated previews and recover from a failed preview check without changing a live site.

Owners and admins with Website management access can review preview versions in a real school workspace.

Before you start

Open Website → Versions. The latest preview is the newest generated draft, not necessarily a live website. Status badges show whether a version is still being prepared, ready for review, or needs attention.

Steps

1. Review Latest preview and its status.
2. Select Open preview to inspect the complete current draft in a new tab.
3. Under Version history, select Preview beside an earlier version when you need to compare it with the latest changes.
4. Read the created dates and status badges carefully so you know which version you are viewing.
5. Select Load more versions when older previews are not yet shown.
6. If Preview needs attention appears, read the displayed error before retrying.
7. Correct any school information, form, image, or domain issue named by the warning.
8. Select Retry preview when the button is available. The dashboard resumes the failed preview step and may rebuild the preview before running its checks again.
9. Open the preview again and check every affected page in desktop and mobile.

What happens next

A successful retry updates the latest preview status and keeps the version in history. You can continue editing from Editor or compare it with earlier previews.

If you do not see this option

Retry preview appears only when the latest preview step can be resumed, such as after a failed check or when its preview could not be created. Versions is unavailable before the first preview and is hidden in demo schools.
