Set communication providers, delivery activity, and authorization

Prepare email and SMS senders and authorize client communications without accidentally activating sends.

Available to owners and admins; live provider setup is unavailable in demo schools.

Finish provider and permission setup, review every sending rule, and use the school master control only as a deliberate authorization for real communications.

Available to

Owners and admins can open Settings → Communications. Demo schools can review simulated Activity but cannot create provider accounts or send live messages.

Before you start

The Client communications master control starts off and stays off until an owner or admin deliberately enables it. Decide who may receive operational and marketing communication, which channels the school will use, and who is authorized to approve messaging. Gather the lawful-relationship or permission information required by the Messaging permission step.

Steps

Complete Setup

  1. Open Settings → Communications → Setup.
  2. Open Email sender and complete the verified sender requirements.
  3. Open SMS number and complete number, registration, and provider-review steps. A pending provider review is not a rejection and should remain pending until the provider decides.
  4. Open Messaging permission and record the school authorization only when its statements are true.
  5. Use Sync provider status to refresh the dashboard after provider-side progress.

Review notification automations

  1. Open Automations.
  2. Review Scheduling notifications and Billing notifications.
  3. Check each branch’s event, wording, and available Email and SMS actions.
  4. Turn on an automation only after its sender, consent, and school authorization checks are ready.

Authorize client communications

  1. Return to Setup and review the Client communications master control.
  2. Select I reviewed broadcasts and will activate them separately.
  3. Select I reviewed automations and will reactivate them separately.
  4. Turn Client communications off to Client communications on only after at least one sender and Messaging permission are ready.

Review Activity

  1. Open Communications → Activity.
  2. Search or filter by provider and status.
  3. Read setup and delivery events, then open the related setup when a failure points to a sender problem.

What happens next

Eligible messaging features can send only when the school master control, provider readiness, recipient eligibility, and the feature’s own rule all pass. Activity records provider setup and delivery updates.

If you do not see this option

Communications is owner/admin-only. Live setup is disabled in demo schools. A sender or channel may remain unavailable because verification, registration, contact information, consent, or the school authorization is incomplete.
