Set up Assistant Skills, Connections, and Memory

Review what the Assistant may reuse, authorize personal connections safely, and activate only approved skills.

Available when the school's plan and your position include Assistant access; school-wide approvals require owner or admin access.

Use Assistant settings to separate drafting from approval, personal authorization from school-wide behavior, and remembered context from temporary conversation. Recurring work lives in the top-level Automations workspace.

Available to

Owners, admins, staff, and front-desk users can see Assistant settings when their plan and position allow it. Personal items belong to the signed-in user; school items and approvals may require an owner or admin.

Before you start

Decide whether a procedure or convention belongs only to you or should be shared with Assistant-enabled staff. Never paste passwords, access tokens, or private provider credentials into Settings.

Steps

Skills

  1. Open Settings → Assistant → Skills.
  2. Ask the Assistant to draft a supported procedure conversationally, then return to the Skill library to review its name, scope, description, and version.
  3. Select Submit for review when a school skill needs approval.
  4. Remember that approval does not enable it. Select Activate version only after the exact version has been reviewed.
  5. Select Archive when the skill should be disabled but retained for history.

Connections

  1. Open Connections to review your personal connection health and authorized capabilities.
  2. Start any supported authorization request from an Assistant conversation. This settings page never collects credentials.
  3. Select Revoke local access when the Assistant should stop using a connection.

Memory

  1. Open Memory and review each saved item’s Personal or School scope.
  2. Ask the Assistant to remember a preference or school convention when useful.
  3. Select Forget when a memory should no longer be reused.

What happens next

Enabled skill versions become available to the Assistant within their approved scope. Personal connections and memory remain tied to the signed-in user, while school memory is shared with Assistant-enabled staff. Open Automations to review recurring work, schedules, and activity.

If you do not see this option

The school’s plan may not include Assistant, or your position may not have access. Some school-wide actions appear only to owners and admins.
